I am going to Goa/India on holiday, what is the best currency to take?

I know the currency is Rupees, however sometimes it is better to take sterling/dollars as it easier to trade with?

1. I would wait till you get there, you will get a better exchange rate, and I'm sure most would prefer american dollards, they have more value
