What kind of currency do I take to India for vacation?

I'm going to India in April and was wondering what to take with me. What kind of Visa or spending money? What should I pack? I will stay there one week. I never traveled before so any help would be appreciated.

  1. get from Google search
  2. You'll have to convert U.S. dollars into Indian rupees at the airport. The weather there is really awesome! Take your summer clothes with you! There are tons of malls if you need anything! You'll find LOTS of cool stuff! It's awesome there! I went to India, so, ya!
  3. India is now devloped country and have all kind of facity for all kind of currency exchange particularly in all major cities
  4. Convert your currency into indian rupees at the airport or at the hotel.Take loose fitting summer clothes but that would depend on the place you are visiting. Plenty of suntan and UV blockers would help. You should have a valid tourist visa. Search for india tourism sites on the web for a better idea about the places you are visiting.
  5. indian rupee. u can exchange us $ to indian rupee any where in india
  6. US $s
  7. Um take some rupees...you convert your money into rupees when you're at the airport :) Take at least one suitcase full of clothes and other items you'll need and maybe a handbag or two..should be enough :)
  8. I suggest you to get Indian Rupees (INR) from Foreign Currency Exchange Department. If you have MasterCard/Visa Credit Cards from any international banks, it will never be a problem. I assume you might come during March. This is where Summer actually starts in India. Northern India will be quite hot during this time (around 35deg Celsius). Southern Part of India will be moderately hot (25-30 deg Celsius). So decide to pack your clothes and other materials accordingly. Another thing, in India common transport for commuting are taxi/auto, so you also need to keep small denominations of INR. :)
  9. indian rupees. also get some shots taken. i hear that people who travel to a distant place arent immune to the diseases their and get sick. take a camera and take pictures of the people their and put it on flikr.com. also try to be tolerant. im indian but i dont like certain people in india. they might beg for money, you might get robbed. try not to make fun of the people their, and understand that they are poor. dont come back telling your friends that indians suck.
