Can some one suggest if an american of indian origin staying in USA can open an account in indian banks ..?

The indians who get a share of their ancestral property have to deposit here and then transfer to American banks.What are the legal and financial rules and regulations.The websites are not so clear.Someone who actually handled this please guideme.Thanks in advance.

1. such indian can open an a/c in indian banks make investments in india .You can contact a chartered in India or lawyers.. The Reserve Bank of India has sites for NRI investments guidence.
2. offcourse why not , u can very well open an NRE , FCNR a/c with any of the indian bank in india .I am also NRI so I would personally recommend SBI or HDFC .
