What is worse, a U.S. consumer buying a product made in India or China? I was in the store today and I couldn't decide between two apparently identical items. One product was made in China and the other was made in India. I live in the United States of America and I'm proud of it. I always try to purchase American made products but in this case I had no choice but to support India or china. Buy the way, I didn't buy either one.

Why dont they make the Made IN America products less expensive so people can afford to buy them? you could get the exact same thing for less than half the price made somewhere else like in China or India. Why dont they lower the price on things made in America so people buy them and support our economy? This is why all our jobs and getting shipped to other countries. As long as the price of a product made in America is much higher than the same thing made somewhere else, people will continue to buy the foreign products to save money. Whats a solution to this? Lower the minimum wage so we can have cheaper labor?

Wouldn't you rather buy things "Made in India" than "Made in China"? I trust India much more than I would ever trust China making my things. India has an appreciation of individual accomplishment while Chinese seem to only think about how much money they can make regardless of how they get it. Whether it comes by adding poison to fabricate protein content of blatant copyright infringement. At least India has pride. The world will probably never be able to return from outsourcing, but we could at least outsource to countries that actually care about their citizens and have some pride for their own accomplishments instead of looking for handouts and playing the victim card. India was colonized much, much longer than China and don't complain at all compared to the latter. Vietnam ended their war with the US 30 years ago and still hold less animosity than Chinese toward Japan even though they fought over 60 years ago. What do you think? Is it finally time to care about where we have our products made instead of going for the cheapest available? Miss Chang - I'm sorry to inform you, but India isn't nor ever has been in Africa. Nice try though. I'm sure all the Africans are thrilled to know you hate their products. I'm sure they're glad you like their oil though
In 20 years will most products instead say "made in India?"? Or Brazil? Or some place other than China? I talked to someone who said China is putting up buildings that nobody is using to artificially build the economy and that since they are starting to demand higher pay it will therefore cost too much to make products and companies will be moving elsewhere.

I came home without any American made product. I had a pair of bib overalls, made in Russia; A shirt from Bangladesh; my shoes that I had on were made in China; My computer was made in India. The packaged salmon I purchased was from China, and the cap on my head was made in Sri Lanka. How in the world do you buy American made products, when you can't even find them in the stores?

How much you want to bet the failing Toyota parts were made in China? How much you want to bet the disastrous Windows Vista software was completely made by contractors in India? How many children have been murdered by inferior Chinese-made products? When are we going to get back to what America does best - manufacturing!!! And stop shipping all our jobs overseas? Keep in mind "manufactured in America" often really means "Assembled in America."

Amway Products: Are they for benefiting India or suppressing India? Amway Products claim that they are genuine products made by completer and effective utilisation of natural plants. They tell that they have discovered their products - Soaps, detergents, food supplements, etc- by experimentation It is well known fact that our ancient Indian Medicine and life suggested using of NATURAL PRODUCTS only for benefiting life. All that has been said in our Siddha and Ayurvedic treatments, these people are trying to bring out in the form of tablets as food supplements. Again, our ancsetors used natural products for washing and home use. They are bringing back the use of enzymes as their discovery. They claim that they harness using natural products as manure. All the aforementioned processes have been diminshed from Indian soil purely due to the advent of colonisation and Western culture. Globalisation further worsened the scenario. People have started using artificial products. Now, they are re-introducing our products to ourselves. People keep their mouths wide open on hearing their demonstration and run behind them for buying these products. They are also interested in the chain marketing introduced. Why can not people understand that they are selling their own old gold ideas back to them? How can we prevent the advent of this company to spoil Indian industry? How can we make people aware of their target? @ Veers: You are correct Sir. We have very few experts in Siddha and Ayur Veda @ Kandasamy: Nice point. Be Indian; Buy Indian is only for people. Not for the Government!! This Question raised in my mind as I am trying to avoid one of my closest friends, an Amway agent, just because he forces me to buy their product!!
Why do I see products made in Afghanistan in stores? We have seen the Made in China template on damn near all our products. You occasionally see made in Taiwan, Nicaragua, Honduras, Korea or Vietnam. Sometimes also the nation depends on the product. Toys, tools and appliances are usually made in China. Some cheaper products sometimes will come from Korea or Vietnam. The widest variety of countries a product is made in are clothes. I have seen clothes made in Mexico, Honduras, Nicaragua, Chile, Germany, China, Pakistan, India, El Salvador and Panama. I remember sometime 3 to 5 years ago I was seeing many shirts in a local shop with a tag reading Made in Afghanistan. I tried looking for it again but all products from Afghanistan have just disappeared. I need to know what exactly is going on inside Afghanistan and why products of cheap labor were showing up in my town stores then vanished. I need links to sources that would explain what kind of labor deals between Afghans, the U.S. and NATO are being made. Bonus for anyone that can give me info on the U.S. taking advantage of cheap labor in other countries around the world.
is there an organization that promotes buying products made in your own country? Done it make sense to keep buying products from companies that have sent most of their jobs outside your own country? Most of us are upset over the massive job losses and yet we caused it by buying products made or grown in some far off place? How do we force the manufaturing of products made in our own country? Do you think the Chinese, people of India, or Vietnam, are buying clothes and shoes or ANYTHING made in North America, the UK or Australia? Are we just so stupid that we will keep buying products made in places that out our own families out of work? How is this going to be stopped? I wonder why no polical leaders advocates stoppp[ing or restricting imported products when so much money is being paid out to the unemployed and so much money has to be borrowed from other countries.
How can you search for a company in India by their registration number? I have a product that is made in India and the only details on the tag of the product is the registration number by the manufacturer. I would like to be able to contact the manufacturer to import a wholesale order of this product and do not know how. Can anyone help me?

Everyday household items "Made in India"? For my India/South East Asia class, our first homework assignment this year is to bring in something that relates to India or is made in India. I can't find or think of any items that are Made in India -- are there any [common?] household items or products that are "Made in India"?
Where I can find a made in Australia product in our country what's your say? we are depending upon products made in UK or Germany or India I m jose from Adelaide
Costco tooth paste, where is the packaging made? When questioned about the origin of their product, Costco claims that their KIRKLAND tooth paste is manufactured in the USA, but they could not tell me where the tubes are made(packaging). Is the tube made in CHINA, INDIA or PAKISTAN or other third world countries with lax governmental safeguards ?? If their product is made in the USA why wouldn't they print MADE IN USA on the package.
If the people who work in the USA do not receive a decent wage then who will buy Manufactures products? Mexico - India - Europe China South American? All of these countries have their own products and manufactures . So if Americans work at slave wages we will not even afford to buy the JUNK that China makes . And China is only doing well right now because we buy so much of their cheaply made products. I am asking where these manufactures profit will come from.
What is made in China means? Actually,I am from India and in india chinese products are considered reliable but Every(Mostly) electric product that i buy all have made in Location as China So, does that mean those products are chinese products or something else and if they are all chinese products then why the all indian retailers shout and even government says dont buy chinese made products because they are all duplicate. Please explain me?
would it be easy to buy a decent traveling backpack once I get to India? I need a good travel backpack, like backpackers where when they travel around India. They are really expensive here in the US - like $200 and more! If I simply show up in India with my stuff in a sack, would I be able to buy a nice backpack there? Do they carry the same kind of backpacks I can get here (most products are made in the third world anyway, so I'm guessing yes). I'm guessing that if I just to to the backpackers ghetto in Delhi (Paharganj) there will be stores that cater to backpackers' needs. I'd just like for someone to confirm this. Also, what sort of price range would I be looking at for a backpack in India? Thanks.
Why India' share of the world' trade is much less than China? With this huge amount of goods that are "Made in China" everywhere in this day and age I wonder why we rarely see products that are "Made in India" I think India' share of the world market is very little given it's size and status as the world' biggest democracy, What do you think?
How to get more things that are "Made In America" or "Made in Your Country of Residence"? You see people lamenting how everything is made in China, India, or some "third world country where they use slave labor" (I'm using words I hear, it's not mine nor does it reflects my feelings on buying from third world countries.). Why don't people start a "Made in America" store/website, organization that support American companies and provide resources that point consumers to American made products or establish a company that provides products that are usually made oversea? I understand the cost issue and I don't mind buying from overseas where the labor is cheap and the cost of living is equally low, however, since there seems to be a real demand for it so why aren't there American alternatives to oversea products? Is it because people simply don't care enough to pay a higher premium for goods made in your home country? If your national pride stops at your pocketbook, then you should probably stop whining. Or is it because there are no people with enough capital (I seriously doubt this) to establish something? Or maybe for other reasons? I'm all for free trade;however, it makes me wonder whenever this issue pops up. Albert, I completely agree; however, that's not the answer I was looking for. Was a finance major. Natasha B, awesome.
Flaw in our Indian education system? Our education system does not allow us to think independently and question or contradict the western scientific or mathematical concepts. We are not encouraged to explore nature and present our concept or theory rather we are expected to understand the way it was understood by Newton or Einstein. This is not to propose chaos in class room but there should be an option for creative thinkers and the education system should encourage and recognise them. This is the fundamental flaw in our system and several brilliant mathematicians, scientists and designers are forced to follow the blind, inflexible model which is designed to create followers and not leaders. This is the reason why we do not see a single hightech product made in India in the world market.
Most people only know about made in china goods. Do they know that the medications they get from pharmacy? is made in india. Over 80% of medications are made in India. Walmart, Rite-Aid, etc etc all get anti-biotics, anti-depressants, etc etc that are made in India. So the products you use made in china and the meds you eat made in India. Now where will you get made in US medications? lol. The pill inside the pharmacy bottle doesn't mention where its made. But if you google the name of the manufacturer on the bottle, you will see they are all coming from India. Especially generics. so what exactly is made in US? computers, printers, scanners, tv, dvd player, microwave, GPS navigation for car, etc etc is all made in china. Even if its American company like HP or Dell, its still made in China. And those companies that you think are truly american like Microsoft -- they have call centers in India all technical support departments of major American companies in India. Some people tell the technical support agent, "can i get someone who speaks proper english". LOL. BWAHAHAHAHAHA.

Whats with this American fear that China will over take the United States? So many people, especially on here, always speaking over the "mighty" China, have these people done any homework? China is as big of a threat as global warming is to destroying the Earth in my lifetime. By 2020 to 2025 India is expected to pass China as the worlds most populous Country. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/12/16/world/asia/16census.html India's economy is already on the brink of passing China's as the fastest growing. By the 2030's it should over take China's economy. http://www.businessweek.com/globalbiz/content/feb2009/gb2009029_663058.htm The ground work in India is already being laid, as a lot of companies are already moving their businesses to India. This can be easily seen as India has the highest demand for skyscrapers than any other nation, including China, USA, and Russia combined. http://www.emirates247.com/news/world/indian-millionaires-fuel-demand-for-skyscrapers-2010-10-24-1.308060 India's economy is closer to catching up with China's than China is to catching the U.S. Every year the gap between made in China products and made in india products gets narrower and narrower. By the 2030s India is expected to surpass China as the leader of goods sold to the U.S. China only owes 7% of the U.S. debt. Guess who owns majority of the U.S. debt? THE AMERICAN PEOPLE! So whats with all this crazy hoopla that China is the new super power? China isn't even close to taking us down. They are closer to being over taken by another nation than they are to catching us. Our GDP of 14 trillion is almost 3 times greater than China's. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_GDP_(nominal) So please all you "Americans" who lose faith in your country to easily, please calm down. Did this lesson ease your fears a bit? You don't have that much to worry about. I'm glad i could help. =) Well, Fred I can defiantly see that you aren't the brightest bulb on the tree as everything in my argument clearly just went over your head. I loved how you gave no counter arguments to any of mine and how you used a silly "what if' example. Hopefully people like you don't run the government, because you may be the only idiot on Earth that's dumb enough to ruin a 14 trillion GDP in a matter of months. Thanks for playing kiddo, any other takers? By the way your example goes with nothing in my argument.
how to get hair straight with the following products:? choose one a tell me how 2: hair spray oil clips creames(bryl creame) any other natural home made product?? only 13 and live in india so cant use anything else!!
made in India or made in America or made in China who's product u will prefer? the basic aim of this Q is what indian consumer prefer 1. quality 2.quantity 3.cheaper (less expensive) 4.brand 5.technology & innovation
Is the VAT tax Conservatives are talking about really an import Tax on Chinese products? Isn't it about time we stopped sending all our jobs to China and India. How much you want to be the failing Toyota parts were made in China? How much you want to be the disastrous Windows Vista software was completely made by contractors in India? How many children have been murdered by inferior Chinese-made products? (Thousands!) STOP CHEAP DANGEROUS IMPORTS THAT PUT AMERICANS OUT OF WORK NOW!!! ("...bet") I've seen the post of the guy's ANSWER, but not the text of what the QUESTION really was. It may have had nothing to do with "VAT" at all. Typical way Fox TV operates.
How come American people don't have a sense of patriotism anymore? They rather buy products made in China rather than products made in USA and they rather talk on the phone with call service centers in India rather than customer services representatives in the US.
My cousin from India keeps on saying the U.S is a bad country? She constantly supports India and criticizes how the U.S has a bad education system and that all of its products are made in China. I know that atleast some things are made in the U.S.A?? What counter arguments can I tell her?? and is it true that the U.S really is that bad??? What should I do?
Wal-Mart disappointment...selling out to 3rd world? I was in Wal-Mart the other day to buy a coffee grinder. 4 were available:3 MADE IN CHINA, 1 MADE IN INDIA... Needless to say, I cannot purchase a product made in a 3rd world country, with a 1st world price, and selling out the American consumer. If I have to spend an extra 5-10 dollars to find something made in America, Germany, France, Canada, then I'll buy it. Anyone else feel strange buying stuff Made In China?
Is this one of the causes of our bad economy ? I was thinking , most of the products we buy are made over in Pakistan, China , and India. Very rarely have I ever seen a product made in America. could it be that one of the reasons if not the main reason behind our economic problems is that we are paying multiple countries to make our products, instead of making them ourselves which would actually put money in American's pockets?
Indians ~ Would it not be a suggestion to boycott all imports and exports involving China? Currently China is one of India's largest trading partners....but at the same time they are scheming to invade India. They sell all their rubbish ready made products to India and buy from India raw materials such as steel etc which they use to build weapons that can be used in a future war against our people. Why are we helping to build the economy of a country which is using that economic growth to build its armed forces just so that they can attack us??? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/south_asia/8304679.stm
Why does the media only show India as an economic success? It is extremely filthy, overcrowded and backward. I've seen people take a crap on the sidewalk. In Mumbai alone, the homeless and the slum dwellers make up about half of the population. The variety and quality of goods and services offered is very poor. Most stores are extremely tiny and only offer basic items. There are no chains e.g. like Walmart where you can get everything you need in one stop. Very often things are spoiled or expired on the shelves. The economy is very protected still and its very expensive to import anything, and products which are made locally are very poor quality. For example, light bulbs which last only 2 hours and burn out. Why isn't the everyday reality on the ground in India exposed?
What is the average USA and global per capita use of shampoo? I'm working on a science project where we have to research a product made from consumptive resources; I chose shampoo, and we need to know the average usa and global per captia use of the product we choose. Everywhere I look only gives me information on shampoo use in India, so if anyone could help me and/or provide me with references that would be great. Also, if anyone knows anything about the accumulating effects of shampoo consumption and/or the projected consumption based on population growth that would be very helpful too!
how did gandhi's salt march illustrate his philosophy of civil disobedience? 1. the march began civilly with speeches by gandhi and other leaders, who pledged to fast from eating products made with slt for 90 days 2. the march was against the civil laws enforced by the britih government in the salt colony of india, a holy land for gandhi and his followers. 3. angered by the indian governments monopoly on salt, gandhi's followers set fire to the country's salt mines 4. the march, which began as a nonviolent protest, soon became a brutally violent rally in which thousands were arrested.
Selling product online to Canada from USA, what's the import tariff procedure? We have an online store and are starting to receive orders from Canada. We sell clothing products. I dont believe we would fall under NAFTA because our product is made in India. We charged the customer the shipping fee but how should the duty fees be handled? In other words who should pay those, us or them? Is there a sale amount that wouldnt be subject to the duty fees? Like if a sale was under a certain amount it wouldn't be subject to duties. The duty on our product is 18% and would that be calculated fron the amount of our sale to the customer or the value that we pay our supplier. If anyone can give me insight on this from experience I would appreciate it

Natural Sleep Aids in India? Ok so I have always had a problem falling asleep. I am 24 now and I have experienced this problem since the age of 14. Whenever this problem becomes chronic, I visit a psychiatrist and he prescribes a hypnotic. I take hypnotics only when I am not able to fall asleep after hours of trying. I usually take Zolpidem but to tell you the truth, even though I have such a problem I am actually against taking such drugs. I am from India and from the past one year I have been trying to find a sleep aid which is relatively safe and isn't addictive. Maybe something thats natural? I know in countries like US etc you get supplements like Melatonin, 5HTP, Valerian etc. But I can't find any of these here in India. So my only hope is someone out here who might know of a sleep aid available in India. I know there are millions of people here in India who suffer from insomnia so it would be just unfair to find out no body knows of any such thing that's available here. And why exactly aren't products like 5HTP made available in India? This is ironic because systems of medicines like Unani and Ayurvedic have there roots in India and all they believe in are products that are natural and organic. Yet natural, organic products like 5HTP, Melatonin aren't available here? WHY GOD WHY??!!
Poll: Which country makes the best products in your opinion? What's a sign of quality? Made in China? Made in India? Made in...? and why?
Export of india ? economic question!!!! 10 points to all? Summarize the effects of change in exchange rates on an export Company in India, which imports raw materials accounting for 80% of its production cost and exports 100% of its production, and another exporting its product made entirely of domestic raw material. In what ways can business houses deal with this aspect of international marketing?
Could you please help me in giving some details about Electric / Battery bike in India? I want to know about the details of electric or battery bike like manufacturing products, battery-life, speed, average mileage, and any other important details about that. I prefer to know about Indian made battery bikes as i'm asked to submit a report on "Battery Bikes Made In India".
Hate it or Love It, International Outsourcing? Explain why you pick your answer? Do you like International Outsourcing? Why or Why not? I've basically worked retail for 6 years now, I've seen inferior workmanship in products that's made in China, India, and other countries. I'm even shocked to know that in China prison, most of the products are made by Chinese prisoners.
does the barcode scanner app from the android market scan the bar codes on indian products? I have a micromax A60 mobile phone with Android 2.1 and i recently downloaded the bar code scanner application from the android market but it is not able to scan barcodes of products that are made in india. However it does scan barcodes of foreign products
Will the U.S. economy get better if no one is buying products/services that are made in America? Look inside your closet. Randomly pull out a few items and look at the tag. Where was it made? Go to the Mall and ask the store owner if they have products that were made in America. When it comes to cars, what is the most popular car in this country? Is it GMC, Chevy, Dodge? Or Toyota? When it comes to U.S animation and cartoons, why are companies like Nickelodeon, Disney, Warner Bros., to name a few, outsourcing them to countries like Korea, the Philippines and other. India has been known to handle IT level support. How long has this been and why can I not understand what they are saying. Why is Microsoft offering free certification to India when it cost up to $3000 dollars for me to take it. Why is the U.S. Government allowing U.S. companies to outsource work in places that are politically volatile and be used against us. Mike Rowe from Dirty Jobs Writes the President: http://www.armedpolitesociety.com/index.php?topic=19149.0 I see the boys are out tonight. It truly makes me feel good to know that I've emotionally affected someone. But to affect two? Dare I be Machiavelli? My very user-name alone should have given this away. But, still I wrote the question. Do I really care about the topic? Should I? Can someone else come up with a better answer...

Should companies that outsource their services be made to be more transparent? A company selling a product made overseas is required to declare where it has been made, e.g. 'Made in Japan'. Should not a bank or insurance company or ISP or hospital that outsources vital services, such as the storage of your financial and biometric details, be made to declare where they are doing this, e.g. 'Serviced from, and data stored in, India', so that customers can make an informed decision whether to allow this to be done to their data? At the moment, you can buy your insurance from a company unaware that all your data would be stored in a foreign country where it could be viewed and copied and sold quite easily. In many developing countries such as India, data security is relatively lax and you can buy online data of UK customers, including their card details and pin numbers. We should have the information to make informed decisions whether to allow our data to be outsourced like that.
Are you willing to stop buying foreign made goods? The young people don't seem to understand that every time they buy a product made in another country, that it is THEY who are sending all their jobs abroad. You would think that most of them feel some sort of responsibility to make sure that people in China, or India, or Mexico ....all have jobs. We are all old enough to make the connection between the 300 million people in the USA spending money on things every day made in other countries....and how we could turn that around pretty quickly if 300 million people started looking for and buying only USA-made goods. SO....since our Social Security and Medicare benefits are all going to be dependent on the younger folks having and keeping jobs.....are you protecting your Social Security and Medicare benefits by buying only goods made in the USA...since it will result in jobs in the USA again? Sorry, but I am not misinformed...I have enough brains to know that if we buy food grown/raised here instead of imported food, it is better for our own economy. If we buy wine made here...not from France or another country, it is better for our economy. Anyone who doesn't GET that is the one who is misinformed & doesn't understand basic economics. Our TRADE DEFICIT is the most alarming number that we post every year. Some things are so simple to do...buy American-grown foods, wines, cheeses...support American jobs and our own country by doing so. We grow lots of apples in the USA, USA apple products are competitive in cost with those from other countries. Are you buying even apple juices made in China? Kroger's apple juice is made in CHINA!!

Why India' share of the world' trade is much less than China? With this huge amount of goods that are "Made in China" everywhere in this day and age I wonder why we rarely see products that are "Made in India" I think India' share of the world market is very little given it's size and status as the world' biggest democracy, What do you think?
If a foreign product has a competitive advantage over an American one, are we obligated to buy American? To what extent should the American consumer go out of his/her way to buy an "inferior" product? I mean inferior only in the sense that according to the consumer, the foreign product better meets the consumers' needs. Some people might say that Hollywood movies are inferior to European art movies, but the consumer says that the US makes great movies. Dollar Tree thrives because Americans want to buy cheap crap instead of well made stuff (or stuff that will do the job just as well as expensive stuff). Should we buy clothes made in the US instead of India; US cars instead of fuel-efficient Japanese ones? Economics says that we're better off (for the most part) letting people concentrate on their strengths; products are made cheaper and better. Does the US have to be the best at all manufacturing? Are you willing to buy only American, even if it's not the best?
if i want to strt a business manufacturin khakra wer should i get my company's name register n how do i strt? khakra is basically called indian roasted bread .Their are companies which manufacture this in india. But they are factory made by which they loose their taste. Why we Indians always wait for someone to invent from west and wait to work for them proudly? We Indians brag about our math prowess and the world's best engineers produced from our IITs.Unfortunately i do not find a single product "Made in India" which i can proudly show to others outside my country.Even the great scientists and engineers have accomplished everything only outside India. If you visit the great Indian companies like Tatas,Infosys,Wipro, any biotech or nanotech firm,we find all their tools, computers and technology is from the west and just the employee is Indian.Even a small country like Finland could launch a world class product like Nokia.I think the root cause of the problem lies in our school education which kills independent thinking and pushes us to simply adopt the western system without questioning. If you try to question Newton's law or a math formulae, the entire class will laugh at you and you will fail in your exam. This is the end of your life and you will not get any job.We are forced to think, live, breath and dream the west.
Can someone re-word this? During the first millennium B.C.E. a highly superior steel product was made in India, in a region near Hyderabad. Well known for its strength and its wavy patterned surface, it was especially desirable for making sword blades. Some think that the ore found in that area just happened to have the right impurities to give the steel special properties. The hot iron was repeatedly forged and folded to produce a metal of extremely high quality that became famous all over the ancient world. It was especially sought after by Europeans, who called it "wootz"; by Moors living in Spain, who used it to make their Toledo blades; and by Arabs, who used it in their famous Damascus swords.
Can someone please re-word this its 25 precent of my mark!? During the first millennium B.C.E. a highly superior steel product was made in India, in a region near Hyderabad. Is "Jana Gana mana" the root cause of our hypocricy and lack of analytical ability? Come to think of it.When i was in class 3,my school teacher told me to memeorise this song at any cost and recite it the next day without fail.I propmptly missed a line, got stuck and subjected to the brutal canning. This is the beginning of the rote memory education imposed on me.This same "Just follow,Don't ask" mentality went on and on untill i finished my highest level of education from a very distinguished university. Frankly, nobody knows or cares to know about the meaning or rationality behind these verses. Eventually peppedup with jingoism,it attains a level of sanctity equivalent to the suras and slokas. This is the beginning of an end of the inquisitive and analytical ability of the young minds in our schools. We produce sincere followers and not leaders. This is the reason why we do not find a single product "Made in India" in the world market. We don't have guts to make our own OS inspite of having millions of scientists, mathematicians and computer engineers.
Why won't the USA make it's own stuff? DO you realize how hard it is to find dog toys that are made in the US? We even import dog bones! Why in the hell can't we manage to make our own stuff? No wonder unemployment is so high. At least back during the great depression, we still had quality products being made in this country, we still had farms growing our own produce. No offense to China, but I'm sick and tired of seeing "made in China" on everything. I was going to buy a bottle of Walgreen's (a drugstore chain) brand "clariton" today, until I read "made in India" on the bottle. What the hell is with that? I'm effen fed up with this crap. Suggested Category Sports > Football (Soccer) > 2006 FIFA World Cup(TM) huh????

Improving the US Economy? I think a contributing reason for the US economy declining is outsourcing and having countries like China making products. If the US slowed down outsourcing such as getting of the call centers in India and have at least 80 percent of the products made in Mexico, China, Pakistan, and other third world countries except exporting to them would increase job opportunities, product quality, pollution "from ship and airplane carbon emissions, and boost the dollar. What do you think?

macdonalds in india why? a comany that makes money selling beef products is a allowed to trade in india .? which is a hindu country, does anyone why they were allowed into india?
Made in China? India? Pakistan? Sadly it is impossible to escape crap goods from these countries nowadays. Whether is the fact that the main ingredient in anthrax treatment is no longer made in the west but exclusively in India or China, or the fact that your diabetes medication is coming from India with fillers like plaster and clay, I don't trust the products of these countries. We all know that if you shop discount tack stores most of the items originate from these countries, my question is: on which horse (and general) items will you not compromise but demand goods not made in these countries? Supplements are my major concern, followed by leather goods and safety products like helmets. Lisa M- I would feel much more comfortable with Argentinian made than Indian made. ;)
How can I find out where to buy fair trade products? When I go to the store to buy clothes, electronics, and many other things I notice often they are made in China, India, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and other third world countries probably by people who are treated like slaves, and it eats away at my conscience. I've heard of the growing movement toward fair trade and was hoping someone could help me find out where I could buy all the products I need from a fair trade source.
are makeup/ cosmetic products cheap in india compared to the U.S.? i'm going on a trip to india soon and was wondering if makeup products (revlon or l'oreal) will be cheaper (when compared to us. dollars) or have the relative price of that in the U.S. hope that makes sense

Ratan Tata,Sh.Mukesh Ambani,Sh.Lakshmi mittal and with Sh. Amitabh Bachan all are legends of India and in India's progess their very huge contribution. like us also, who is running small Bussiness houses in India, These all the peoples are self made person, God ever helps those who helps themselves. There are very much contribution also of Honest Politicians and Govt.employees but they are in very small quantity.
do you feel bad about cheap clothes made abroad in places like india in sweatshops? if we boycott, then the workers won't have jobs and money to feed their family. but if we buy them, then we're supporting the current system they're in. and the clothes aren't actually that cheap. if you pay £10 for a t-shirt, that should be a decent wage but obviously the middleman is consuming most of the money. are fairtrade products just the same but because the price is higher, the middleman can afford to give a bit more to the worker, but the middleman is still consuming most of the price. your thoughts please!!!!

Do people who work at call centers in India really make a substantial living? I wonder because whenever I need to contact someone for a product or service it seems that they must be in India! I get some language barriers and it drives me crazy and I have trouble understanding some of the people who are taking my calls! (No offense to people in India, it's an outsourcing problem our nation has developed...)
Why does the republican gov give tax breaks to Big companies like Microsoft who export jobs to India? Why is cisco( the largest network equipment maker) getting huge tax breaks from making 95% of their products overseas? Why is microsoft getting a tax break on sending tech support jobs to India? the government should tax any company who decides to take a job outside the US through the roof. These companies are killing the dollar. I can wait for a democrat to be in Office to Tax these selfish people.
