INNOVATIONS IN GOVERNANCE Swagat Online - State-Wide Attention on Public Grievance by Application of Technology Good governance is the key to sustainable development. Modi has been constantly innovating, aiming at excellence in governance. His understanding of the importance of technology in effective and efficient delivery of services has enabled the state to take up many innovative steps for empowering people. SWAGAT is an innovative concept that enables direct communication between the citizens and the chief minister. In Gandhinagar, the fourth Thursday of every month is a SWAGAT day wherein the highest office in administration attends to the grievances of the man on the street. Grievances are logged in, transmitted and made available online to the officers concerned who have to reply within 3 to 4 hours. The departments concerned then have to be ready with the replies, before 3 p.m., when the Chief Minister holds video conferences with all the districts concerned. Applicants are called one by one and the chief minister examines each complaint in detail. The information sent by the department is also reviewed online in the presence of the complainant and the Collector/District Development Officer/Superintendent of Police and other officials concerned. Owing to the innovative use of technology that injects in accountability in the government machinery, the International institutions such as the Commonwealth Telecom Organization and University of Manchester have considered SWAGAT as an excellent model of e-transparency Power uninterrupted (to 100% villages) - Jyoti Gram Hailing from a small town Vadnagar, Modi had witnessed frequent load shedding and power failures during his childhood days. Such power failures not only used to hamper the studies of children but also affected the economic activities in the semiurban and rural areas. Modi hence conceived a scheme called Jyoti Gram Yojana to provide 3- phase, 24-hour, uninterrupted power supply to all the 18,065 villages and also to the 9,680 suburbs attached to these villages. Gujarat achieved a growth rate of 15% in the first year itself and surpassed the target of 10.2% set by the planning commission.
Isn't this disturbing? CIA estimated in 1980s that the budget of Soviet propaganda abroad was between 3.5-4.0 billion dollars.[7] Propaganda abroad was partly conducted by Soviet intelligence agencies. GRU alone spent more than $1 billion for propaganda and peace movements against Vietnam War, which was a "hugely successful campaign and well worth the cost", according to GRU defector Stanislav Lunev [8]. He claimed that "the GRU and the KGB helped to fund just about every antiwar movement and organization in America and abroad". [8] According to Oleg Kalugin, "the Soviet intelligence was really unparalleled. ... The KGB programs -- which would run all sorts of congresses, peace congresses, youth congresses, festivals, women's movements, trade union movements, campaigns against U.S. missiles in Europe, campaigns against neutron weapons, allegations that AIDS ... was invented by the CIA ... all sorts of forgeries and faked material -- [were] targeted at politicians, the academic community, at the public at large." [9] Soviet-run movements pretended to have little or no ties with the USSR, often seen as noncommunist (or allied to such groups), but in fact were controlled by USSR.[10] Most members and supporters, called "useful idiots" by Lenin, did not realize the fact that they were unwilling instruments of Soviet propaganda.[10][11] The organizations aimed at convincing well-meaning but naive Westerners to support Soviet overt or covert goals.[12] A witness in a US congressional hearing on Soviet cover activity described the goals of such organizations as the: "spread Soviet propaganda themes and create false impression of public support for the foreign policies of Soviet Union."[11] Much of the activity of the Soviet-run peace movements was supervised by the World Peace Council.[10][11] Other important front organizations included the World Federation of Trade Unions, the World Federation of Democratic Youth, and the International Union of Students.[11] Somewhat less important front organizations included: Afro-Asian People's Solidarity Organization, Christian Peace Conference, International Association of Democratic Lawyers, International Federation of Resistance Movements, International Institute for Peace, International Organization of Journalists, Women's International Democratic Federation and World Federation of Scientific Workers.[13] There were also numerous smaller organizations, affiliated with the above fronts.[14][12] Those organizations received (total) more than 100 million dollars from USSR every year.[10] Propaganda against the United States included the following actions [15]: Promotion of false John F. Kennedy assassination theories, allegedly using writer Mark Lane. Discrediting the CIA, using historian Philip Agee (codenamed PONT). Spreading rumors that FBI director J. Edgar Hoover was a homosexual. Attempts to discredit Martin Luther King, Jr. by placing publications portraying him as an "Uncle Tom" who was secretly receiving government subsidies. Stirring up racial tensions in the United States by mailing bogus letters from the Ku Klux Klan, placing an exposive package in "the Negro section of New York" (operation PANDORA), and spreading conspiracy theories that Martin Luther King, Jr.'s assassination had been planned by the US government. Fabrication of the story that AIDS virus was manufactured by US scientists at Fort Detrick; the story was spread by Russian-born biologist Jakob Segal India's first PM Jawaharlal Nehru was also a blind and gullible worshiper of the Soviet idea. He was known to stubbornly defend every issue remotly contacted with communism. When the Chinese attacked India he kept back the forces till eleventh hour, as per Soviet guidence, believing "a socialist state will never initiate a war" -Wikipedia Now, I know sometimes Wikipedia is a little innaccurate, but if this is true, what does that say about all the peace movements and such of the 1960's and 70's and such? The very idea that all those well-meaning bubbleheads were being directed by soviets is highly disturbing to me....
So, what really causes racism? My answer to "dot" on this issue was immediately deleted. Therefore - here is my answer, that became a pseudo-question: dot, hi...I agree with "bob" and "sound", but want to add something of historic perspective - for deeply dishonest and hateful, like "end", who answered you too. When arabs and others open a trade of slaves - slavery was a norm. As soon, as inappropriateness of slavery became obvious - the USA became the first of largest countries, who abolished slavery. For instance, slavery of masses for a government and it's ruling party, was still a norm in fascist soviet union until 1993... The modern racists are barry soturo, aka, hussein obama, his wife michelle (who expressed her racism and hatred of America in public speeches), sodomayer (a member of extreme racist organization "laRaza', whom hussein made a justice)...jeremiah wright, jessie jackson, al sharp-thug , and people like "end", who demand privileges and promotions based on their status of minorities. Minding you, I am a double minority, but I know better. I know why just as dark-skinned (as blacks are) immigrants from, say, India, don't whine or demand "reparations"... What about Jews, who were in slavery 10 times longer than blacks? LOL... Does islamic world gives them reparations? So-called "affirmative action" is illegal, repugnant action, which ruined future and hope of so many blacks... Just as repulsive and corrupt welfare system, who ruined millions of solid and good black families and created millions of fatherless children, without hope of future... Neo-liberalism, parasits and illegals are, in sum, those who created and are supporting modern racism. Thanks
